Blue Bridge Oasis
At Blue Bridge Oasis, we create immersive retreats that bridge cultures, people, and purpose.
Our vision is to redefine the way we travel — slowing down, connecting deeply, and experiencing each place as a local would.
We believe that meaningful travel is about more than seeing beautiful places; it’s about feeling them. Through our curated retreats, we bring together movement, mindfulness, and authentic cultural experiences — from yoga and wellness practices to local cuisine, traditions, and nature.
Rooted in sustainability and community, our approach supports local partners and encourages conscious travel that gives back to the places we visit.
Blue Bridge Oasis invites you to move, explore, and connect — with yourself, others, and the world around you..
Who we are
Louise and Kara met during their freshman year of college, where they were roommates and teammates on the soccer team. Their friendship quickly grew, grounded in shared values and a mutual love of travel, movement, and meaningful connection. Now lifelong friends, they’re excited to bring their energy and passion into creating thoughtful, memorable retreat experiences together.
About Louise
Hi, I’m Louise!
I grew up between Sweden and France, with a Swedish dad and French mom, which gave me a love for cultures, languages, and the feeling of belonging in more than one place. Early on, I found another love: soccer. The game took me from Sweden to the U.S., where I played collegiate soccer, and later to Paris and Spain, where I’ve continued my journey on the field.
Beyond football, I’ve explored how people and places connect in other ways. At the United Nations World Tourism Organization, I saw the power of tourism—when done thoughtfully—to unite communities, foster development, and broaden perspectives. Later, as an activity manager with EF in Málaga, I created immersive cultural programs for international students and discovered a lasting love for Andalucía and the south of Spain. These experiences deepened my belief in travel as more than movement—it can be growth, empathy, and exchange.
I’ve lived in Sweden, France, Spain, and the U.S., and now call Madrid home with my boyfriend Miguel. Multilingual in Swedish, English, Spanish, and French, I love discovering the world through food, movement, and meaningful conversations.
Blue Bridge Oasis is my way of bringing all of this together: creating spaces where travel, wellness, and culture meet—so that every journey feels immersive, inspiring, and deeply human.
About Kara
Hi, I’m Kara! Movement has been a lifelong passion for me—from playing soccer since I was five to competing at the collegiate level. I studied Community Health with a minor in Spanish, and I recently earned my master’s in Sustainability Studies. I currently work as a Venue Sustainability Manager at an large outdoor arena, where I help create greener, more conscious experiences for events and guests.
After retiring from competitive soccer, I dove deeper into the world of yoga, something I’ve practiced for years (yes, even celebrated with a yoga-themed birthday when I was 10!). I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and now love guiding others through mindful movement and breath.
Beyond the mat, I’m a traveler at heart. I am from Wisconsin and currently live in North Carolina with my husband Juan, from Spain, and our dog, Bleu. I love exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and trying fun food. Some of the most meaningful moments have come from connecting with locals and seeing a place from their perspective—it always adds depth to the journey.
I’m excited to move, breathe, and share meaningful experiences with you.
Travel with Purpose
At Blue Bridge Oasis, we believe travel should give as much as it takes. Too often, modern tourism overwhelms destinations and distances travelers from the communities they visit. We envision something different—retreats that are restorative not only for our guests, but also for the places and people who welcome us.
Rooted in Kara’s background in sustainability and Louise’s work in international relations and tourism, our philosophy is simple: create experiences that connect deeply, honor local culture, and leave a positive footprint.
When you join us, you’ll share meals sourced from local markets, learn from the people who call each place home, and experience daily life through their perspective. Each retreat supports the community and environment it’s built upon—because we believe travel should be a bridge: connecting cultures, creating exchange, and inspiring growth for everyone involved.
